Hello from Northern Ireland!
I’ll write more about my journey to England and Northern Ireland next week. Today, I wish to tell you about a stunning installation in Budapest. (If you are Bulgarian some weeks the newsletter here differs from the one in Bulgarian. You can read today’s Bulgarian publication „Ротондата Св. Георги“ here.)
I stayed in Budapest for four evenings to recharge before continuing the “Kaval Park” film tour in Great Britain. The last day there I visited “Cinema Mystica”. The gallery name enticed me to go, but the nature of the exhibit (it’s up until January) turned my expectations upside-down…
I’m cautious to subscribe to the “inevitable” mergence of technology and humans. However, we do need to use technology to our advantage and the exhibit did that brilliantly, with respect, love and modesty. I walked in with a technology biased because I’m well aware of the pitfalls of social media, infinite scrolling and constant checking in with a beloved device. At first I thought the exhibit was a celebration of technology by a futurist with an agenda. But with every next step my thinking changed from apathy to awe.
Did you know the average adult spends between 3-4 hours a day watching videos on their phones? If you think that’s crazy, try tracking yourself every time you unwittingly open a social media app and scroll through feeds. The problem is that the time spent on social media is dispersed through the day. We get the illusion we don’t spend as much time consuming videos as we actually do.
I’ve uninstalled all social media apps from my phone. People think I’m on social media a lot but this is an illusion… Our Team in Bulgaria manages my social media because I wish to utilize those 3 hours a day, 21 hours a week, to write this newsletter and my book, be with family and friends, and, of course, keep making movies.
I wish for everyone to take control of their precious time on Earth. To be more disciplined in what we consume online, why and when. That’s why I have shamelessly bugged most of you at film screenings to subscribe via email. We’ve had about 30 audience members subscribe to both newsletters over the last week which has taken us to over 1,500 subscribers. Our “off the algorithm” community is growing and the cool part is that you are in control of when you read this newsletter.
Thank you for trusting me with your time and Welcome! I hope you find “Follow the pen (and the camera)” fun and inspiring to read.
WHO AM I?
Tis the question I felt was at the center of the experience at Cinema Mystica’s latest exhibit - created and curated by the artist collective Global Illumination.
Walking around the installation was a full immersive experience starting with the stairs…
NOTE: If you are reading this in your email, it might get automatically shortened so view it in a browser or the app. For the best video experience download the Substack App.
If you don’t have time to read/look through all the installations, I really wish to share with you “Constellations” so please scroll down to the end to see it.
The Cleansing
THE START OF THE RITUAL JOURNEY. THE ACT OF CLEANSING OR BAPTIZING PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN MOST SPIRITUAL PRACTICE…
All the installations where paired up with music, some tuned in to the Solfeggio frequencies.

The bellow image was taken through a door leading out of an installation to the corridor with another installation straight across. It looked like the black monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Hyperflake
BOTH INSTALLATIONS ARE BASED ON A SHARED SACRED GEOMETRY GRID. WE BOTH DESIGNED THEM IN OUR OWN STYLES, BUT WITH A MATCHING GRID TO CONNECT THE TWO ARTWORKS. ON A SURFACE ONE COULD PERHAPS RECOGNIZE THEM AS MANDALAS. BUT STILL, WE WOULD PREFER TO LEAVE THE DECODING OF YOUR OWN MEANING TO YOU.
I walked back and forth a few times through the portal. I kept hunching over from fear of hitting my head. The last few times I walked through upright. It made a huge difference energetically to do so.

Inner Sanctum
THE HEART CARRIES THE PATTERNS OF EONS. ENGRAVED WITH THE PATTERNS OF LIFE. FEELINGS, PAST LIVES, MEMORIES OF LOVE, RELATIONSHIPS AND DEATHS.
I returned three times to watch this installation and feel its power reflected in the infinity mirrors.

The Retuner
EVERYTHING IS FREQUENCY AND VIBRATION. BY TWEAKING FREQUENCIES ONE CAN HEAL, AND RETUNE TO THE SURROUNDING UNIVERSE.
SOLFEGGIO FREQUENCIES REFER TO SPECIFIC TONES OF SOUND THAT HELP WITH AND PROMOTE VARIOUS ASPECTS OF BODY AND MIND HEALTH. THESE FREQUENCIES ARE REPUTED TO DATE BACK TO ANCIENT HISTORY AND SAID TO BE THE FUNDAMENTAL SOUNDS USED IN BOTH WESTERN CHRISTIANITY AND EASTERN INDIAN RELIGIONS, CHANTED BY THE GREGORIAN MONKS AND IN ANCIENT INDIAN SANSKRIT CHANTS.
You’re invited to sit in bean bag chairs and let yourself get retuned. It worked like a wonder for me. Tension and stress evaporated. I will be using these frequencies in my films…

Another Installation
Sorry dear artists, the name of your installation is missing in action. The entire experience enamored me so much so that I remembered to scan the QR description codes only later and out of order. Maybe our readers can figure out which on it is here.
Let There Be Life

The Lost Tapes Of The First Extraterrestrial Conference
AS IMAGINED BY THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. PROMPTED BY NATHAN COLLINS.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out if AI created these images. And how did the artists prompt AI to do so. They appear too perfectly composed and thought through. Or are the artists just playing with the narrative of the times in their description… Regardless, the images really struck me as stories. They appeared so natural and almost casual, like everyday photos. They changed in a timed video sequence.

Constellations
Took my breath away. I experienced this one half a dozen times, letting other visitors have their turn in between… As you walk forward, you come together and then… I truly felt what we all know deep inside - we’re a part of the Universe and she lives in us.
Thank you for being in my life, dear reader and friend! I’m excited for what’s next for us all.
Enjoy!

Why do you say we don’t see the whole thing in email? I think I saw everything in email as I see it here on the app.
Beautiful!!! I want to go see it.
Amazingly attractive exhibition to me.
